Rakul made her acting debut in the Kannada film “Gilli” in 2009, which is a remake of Selvaraghavan’s 7G Rainbow Colony.  In 2011, she participated in Femina Miss India of 2011, where she won 4 subtitles at the pageant such as Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face, Femina Miss Talented, Femina Miss Beautiful Smile and Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes. Same year, she appeared in the film “Keratam” opposite Siddharth Rajkumar, this film released in both Telugu and Tamil languages. Next year, in 2012 she appeared in a supporting role in the film “Thadaiyara Thaakka”.

In 2013, Rakul appeared in Tamil film “Puthagam” and same year in november she appeared in Telugu film “Venkatadri Express” which became a commercial success.

Debut In Hindi Cinema

Rakul made her Hindi debut in the film “Yaariyan” directed by Divya Kumar, in 2014. Along with that, she was working on three telugu films namely “Loukyam”, “Current Theega”. In 2016, she starred in the film “Jaya Janaki Nayaka” opposite Bellamkonda Sreenivas, directed by Boyapati Srinu. She appeared in “Kathanayakudu” in a guest role as Sridevi, in 2019.

In 2021, she starred in the Hindi comedy drama film “Sardar Ka Grandson” opposite Arjun Kapoor, directed by Kaashvie Nair. On 8 october 2021, her telugu film “Konda Polam” was released, which is directed by Krish. In 2022, she co-starred in Hindi action film “Attack”. Same year, she starred in “Runway 34” alongside Ajay Devgan and Amitabh Bachan. Rakul paired up with Akshay Kumar in film “Cuttputtli” which was released on Disney+Hotstar.

In 2023, she starred in film “Chhatriwali” directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, and it was released on Zee5.
