Jemimah Rodrigues, an Indian cricketer who was born on September 5, 2000, is the daughter of a former Mumbai player. She is an all-rounder for the Mumbai women’s cricket team and played hockey for the Under-17 Maharashtra team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presented her with the Jagmohan Dalmiya Award, which is given to the Best Domestic Junior Women’s Cricket Player, in June 2018 in Jharkhand.
Jemimah Rodrigues attended both St. Joseph’s Convent High School in Mumbai and Rizvi College of Arts, Science, and Commerce prior to enrolling there. Jemimah Rodrigues was chosen to represent Maharashtra in the state cricket team’s Under-19 competition. After playing for the state, Jemimah was chosen for India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa in 2018. She played in her first Women’s Twenty20 International cricket match for the Indian Women’s squad against South Africa in February 2018. In October 2018, she became a member of the Indian women’s team for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in the West Indies. Jemimah Rodrigues made her World T20 Championship debut at the age of 18. In her first match, Jemimah scored 59 against NZ women. In the run to the finals, Jemimah scored 93 runs. However, she was unable to emulate her performances in the finals, as India fell to Australia.Â
Jemimah is also a part of the ongoing T20 World Championships in Australia. The Mumbaikar scored 26 in 33 balls and pushed India to 132 in the repeat of the 2018 finals. However, the Indian women had their revenge as they bowled out Australia for 115.Â
In the second match against Bangladesh, she came at 1-16 after the departure of wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatiya. Jemimah then stabled the order, as Shefali Verma and captain Harmanpreet Kaur. She pushed India towards the 100 mark before being run-out due to confusion with Veda Krishnamurthy.Â
