Odean Smith is a West Indian\u00a0 cricketer born on 1 November 1996. He was born in St Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica. He is a right handed batsman and right arm fast medium bowler. Odean is a full time bowler. He made his List A debut on 16 January 2015 in the 2014-15 Regional Super 50 tournament. He made his T20 debut for\u00a0Jamaica Tallawahs\u00a0in the 2017\u00a0Caribbean Premier League\u00a0on 8 August 2017. Odean Smith made his national debut with the West Indies cricket team in April 2018.<\/p>

Odean Domestic Career<\/strong><\/h2>

In May 2018, Smith was selected to play for the Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team for the 2018\u201319 season in the Professional Cricket League draft. In November 2019, Smith was named in Trinidad and Tobago\u2019s squad for the Regional Super 50 tournament for 2019-20. He was selected by Jamaica in the players\u2019 draft hosted by Cricket West Indies ahead of the 2020\u201321 domestic season.<\/p>

In July 2020, Smith was named to the\u00a0Guyana Amazon Warriors squad\u00a0for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League.Following the players\u2019 draft for the 2021 Lanka Premier League, Smith was selected to play for the Dambulla Giants. In February 2022, he was purchased by the Punjab Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League.<\/p>

Smith was selected for the West Indies\u2019 Under-19 Cricket World Cup squad in December 2015. In March 2018, Smith was selected for the West Indies\u2019 Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Pakistan.<\/p>

On April 2, 2018, he made his T20I debut for the West Indies against Pakistan.<\/p>

Smith was picked to the West Indies One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for the series against Pakistan in November 2021. He was selected in the West Indies\u2019 ODI team for the series versus Ireland in December 2021. \u00a0On January 8, 2022, he made his ODI debut for the West Indies against Ireland.<\/p>

Odean Smith<\/strong><\/strong> IPL Career<\/strong><\/h2>

He was purchased by the Punjab Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League season in February 2022.  He made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 27.<\/p>

He didn\u2019t do that much with his bowling skills, but with the bat, he scored 25 runs in 9 balls to assist Punjab Kings to knock down 205 runs after the match. Smith was selected as the man of the match. He is also capable of clocking a speed of 90mph.<\/p>
