Early Life<\/strong><\/h2>

Shubman Gill was born in Fazilka, Punjab, on September 8, 1999. His family possessed some agricultural areas. Lakhwinder Singh, his father, was a farmer who aspired to play cricket<\/a><\/strong> but was not able to realize his goal. Instead, he chose to prepare Gill to be a formidable cricket player. From an early age, he was aware of his son’s cricketing aptitude and was thrilled about the opportunity to develop it. Gill spent some time being coached by his school prior to enrolling in Punjab Cricket Association Academy. On his Punjab Under-16 state debut, he recorded an undefeated double century in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. In the 2014 Punjab Inter-District Under-16 competition, he amassed 351 runs and amassed a record opening partnership of 587 runs with Nirmal Singh. <\/p>

On his Punjab Under-16 state debut, he recorded an undefeated double century in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. In the 2014 Punjab Inter-District Under-16 competition, he amassed 351 runs and amassed a record opening partnership of 587 runs with Nirmal Singh. In August of that year, he was selected to be the captain of the India Blue squad for the 2019\u201320 Duleep Trophy. In October 2019, Gill was selected to lead the India C squad in the Deodhar Trophy for the 2019\u201320 season. In November 2019, he became the youngest cricket player to ever captain a side in the competition. Gill played a part in India’s U-19 team’s series victory over England U-19 in February 2017. In December 2017, he was named vice-captain of the Indian squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.<\/p>

Later, on January 31, 2019, at Hamilton’s Seddon Park, he played his first One Day International (ODI) cricket match against New Zealand. It was the fourth ODI of the series. In February 2020, he was picked again for the Indian Test team, this time for the series against New Zealand. <\/p>
