Kristen Mary Jenner, an American media personality, socialite, and businesswoman, was born on November 5, 1955. She was previously known as Kardashian. Her birth name was Houghton. She became well-known for her role as a family member in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007–2021). She and her family starred in several spin-off series as a result of the popularity of their program, including Rob & Chyna (2016), Khloe & Lamar (2011), Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (2009), and Life of Kylie (2017). For the majority of the reality shows her family produced, she served as executive producer. She was the host of the pop culture-focused daytime talk show Kris for six weeks in 2013. After her family decided to leave E! in 2021, they went on to star in in 2022’s The Kardashians on Hulu.

On November 5, 1955, Mary Jo “M. J.” Shannon (née Campbell; born 1934), the owner of a children’s clothes store, and Robert True “Bob” Houghton (1931–1975), an engineer, welcomed Jenner into the world. She was the older of the two children.— M. J. and Bob separated when she was seven years old, leaving their younger sister Karen Casey (née Houghton; born 1958) to grow up with their mother. Businessman Harry Shannon (1926–2003), with whom M. J. eventually remarried, assisted in raising Jenner and her sister. Steven “Steve” Shannon is her half-brother, acquired from her mother’s union with Harry.

The family relocated back to San Diego when Shannon’s business partner allegedly fled with all of the company’s funds three months after they moved to Oxnard, California. Jenner was employed at her mother’s children’s clothing business, Shannon & Company, in San Diego. Jenner completed his education at Clairemont High School in 1973. At the age of 19, Jenner lost her biological father in an automobile accident in 1975. In 1976, she spent a year working as a flight attendant for American Airlines.

In 2007, Jenner contacted Ryan Seacrest with the intention of pursuing her family as the subject of a reality TV program. Seacrest, who had his own production firm, made the decision to develop the concept after seeing the success of the family-friendly television program The Osbournes. Jenner added some remarks regarding the potential series.
For example, there are the younger girls, the older girls, and my son. … Everyone believes they have the ability to make a lot of drama in their lives, but I never felt like I had to consider it. It would make sense.

Eventually, the show was chosen to premiere on the cable network E!, with Jenner serving as executive producer. The mixed families of Kardashian-Jenner were the subject of the show’s personal and professional lives. After making its premiere on October 14, 2007, the series grew to become one of the nation’s longest-running reality TV programs.
The show was a hit for its network, E!, and it led to the development of various spin-offs, such as Kourtney and Kim Take Miami (2009), where Jenner has appeared on multiple occasions as a guest. In January 2011, Jenner made her television debut as a recurrent cast member on Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Jenner also made an appearance in her daughter’s 2011 television debut, Khloe & Lamar, which followed the personal and romantic lives of Khloe Kardashian and her then-husband Lamar Odam. Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons is the name of the E! spin-off series that the network announced on March 26, 2014. The Hamptons follows Scott Disick, Kourtney, and Khloé as they move to the Hamptons while the girls work on the Dash store in New York and launch a pop-up shop. Their family, including Jenner, was also featured on the show. Kylie Jenner, Jenner’s youngest daughter, was a main cast member of the E! reality spin-off series Life Of Kylie in 2017.
Kris, Jenner’s pop culture-focused daytime talk program, was hosted. On July 15, 2013, the show debuted on a number of Fox-owned stations for a six-week trial run. On the broadcast, Jenner’s then-son-in-law Kanye West, who was married to Kim, shared the first photo of Jenner’s granddaughter North West with the public. The six-week trial run of the show was not renewed.

Jenner had six guest appearances as a recurring cast member on the E! reality series I Am Cait in 2015. The journey of her ex-husband Caitlyn Jenner (previously Bruce) through her gender transition was chronicled on the show. They and their kids remained co-stars on Keeping Up with the Kardashians even after their 2015 divorce.
After twenty seasons and nearly 15 years on TV, Jenner and her family made the announcement in 2021 that Keeping Up With the Kardashians will be ending. On March 18, 2021, the twentieth and last season had its premiere.
After leaving the E! Network to join Hulu, Jenner and her family made a comeback to television in April 2022 with The Kardashians, a brand-new reality series. Kanye West makes a cameo appearance on the show, which also stars Jenner with her daughters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie, as well as ex- and current lovers Scott Disick, Travis Barker, Tristan Thompson, and Corey Gamble. She has overseen the careers of her children Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie since before Keeping Up with the Kardashians debuted. In addition, she manages her son’s and other daughters’ businesses. Her successful family brands, which include Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin, KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance, Skims, Good American, 818 Tequila, and SKKN by Kim and Arthur George, were launched with her help and she has been a major driving factor behind them. In 2004, Jenner and her eldest daughter, Kourtney, started a children’s store. Before closing in 2009, the “Smooch” boutique was operational for nearly six years. Kris Jenner Kollection, Jenner’s apparel collection, debuted in 2011 on QVC. In the 1990s, Jenner had previously worked with QVC to sell fitness equipment.

Jenner, along with her youngest daughter Kylie, created Kylie Lip Kits (now Kylie Cosmetics) in 2014. They collaborated with Seed Beauty, a retail and product development firm that was co-founded by John and Laura Nelson, who are siblings. On November 30, 2015, Kylie Lip Kits—a liquid lipstick and lip liner—became the brand’s first offering. Kylie contributed $250,000 from her modeling earnings to sponsor Seed Beauty’s production of the first 15,000 lip kits. In February 2016, the business changed its name to Kylie Cosmetics and ramped up production to 500,000 kits. The company brought in over $300 million in revenue by the end of 2016. Through Kylie’s own Instagram, Jenner and Kylie launched their partnership, dubbed the Kris Kollection, on May 9, 2018.

The appropriately called “Momager” small lip set from the Kris Kollection features eight miniature liquid lipsticks. Jenner has attempted to patent the term “Momager” in recent years. Along with the “Momager” Lip Kit, the Kris Kollection also comes with lip glosses and a four-pan pressed powder highlight/blush palette that has garnered mixed reviews online. Mother’s Day fell on the very day that the collection was launched.
One month after divorcing Kardashian, Jenner wed retired Olympian Bruce Jenner in April 1991. In 2015, Bruce Jenner came out as a transgender woman, going by the name Caitlyn. Together, they are parents to two daughters, Kendall (born 1995) and Kylie (born 1997). Jenner stated in her memoirs that she named her daughter Kendall Nicole in honor of the late Nicole Brown Simpson. Through her union with Bruce, Jenner also had four stepchildren: Burt, Brody, Brandon, and Cassandra “Casey”.

October 2013 saw the Jenners announce their separation. Kris filed for divorce on September 22, 2014, citing irreconcilable differences. On March 23, 2015, the divorce was finalized due to a six-month state legal requirement. Even though Jenner was aware of Caitlyn’s hormone use in the 1980s, she said that the split with Caitlyn was “the most passive-aggressive thing” and that “there wasn’t a gender issue.” There was no discussion of a gender issue.

Kris Jenner’s net worth in 2023 is approximately $170 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
