Virat Kohli Can Break These Records Soon
Most centuries in ODI cricket:
With as many ODI centuries as Sachin Tendulkar has amassed, Virat Kohli can surpass him. In his ODI career, Sachin has amassed 49 hundreds. While Kohli has already amassed 47 hundreds in cricket. In terms of most ODI centuries, Kohli is only two tons behind Sachin, and he has the potential to surpass this record in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Most centuries in World Cricket:
On the list of players who have scored the most hundreds in the history of cricket worldwide, Virat Kohli is now ranked second. The record holder for the most hundreds scored is Sachin Tendulkar (100). With 77 centuries to his credit thus far, Kohli has the potential to surpass this mark shortly.
Most runs in ODI Cricket:
The title of “God of Cricket,” Sachin Tendulkar, holds the record for most runs scored in one-day international cricket. In 463 matches, he has amassed 18,426 runs in 452 innings. Virat Kohli ranks fifth in this instance. In 268 innings thus far, he has scored 13027 runs.
Virat Kohli India | Top order Batter:
Though probably not as ambitious as Virat Kohli, India has produced several excellent cricket players for the world. Kohli leveraged Sachin Tendulkar’s technical acumen and level of fitness that was comparable to elite athletes worldwide, not just cricket players, to achieve his goal. As a result, Kohli emerged as the most reliable all-time all-format accumulator of all time, making incredible chases appear simple and figuring out the safest approach to score runs, in his own words. An abundance of them.
This goal carried over into his captaincy as well: he led India to a lengthy tenure at the top of the Test rankings and their first-ever series victory in Australia. He also required more of his bowlers than before, particularly the quick ones, and frequently sacrificed a batsman for bowling depth. He will undoubtedly become the most successful Test skipper in India. With the exception of one in Bangladesh, Kohli achieved hundreds in every Test match he participated in. In terms of the amount of matches needed to reach eight, nine, ten, and eleven thousand ODI runs, he completely broke records. He posed a real danger to Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 51 Test hundreds and 49 ODI hundreds.
When Kohli first came onto the spotlight, he was an Under-19 world Cup captain and a lightning-fast talent with a tremendous cover drive. As the Tendulkar era began to come to a close, Kohli was bound to be India’s next great batter, but he wanted to be more. He wanted to be a player the opposition would be afraid of, a player whose presence would make the game more intense. He made sure he had the strength and fitness to compete every moment, lived every ball, and experienced every moment. He was generally acknowledged for bringing endurance tests into Indian cricket and influencing the culture of fitness and selection. Simply put, Kohli was India’s most capable captain. The focal point of all Indian cricket marketing campaigns, he also led at a period when the BCCI was governed by acting administrators who were wise enough not to enrage the game’s biggest celebrity. Under his leadership, India won a lot of matches, therefore there was never any reason to question his intentions.

The ‘Polite’ Opinion of an Ex-Indian Star Regarding the Dissimilarities Between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir
The former star of the Indian cricket team highlighted the distinction between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the hitters for Delhi.
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) :
Better than the former India Mahendra Singh Dhoni was not selected as Parthiv Patel’s captain; instead, he selected Sourav Ganguly, the former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and stated that there will always be a warm spot for his first captain. At the age of seventeen, Parthiv made his debut for India in 2002. Under Ganguly’s captaincy, Parthiv participated in 10 ODIs and 15 Test matches between 2002 and 2004. Ganguly has a reputation for supporting his players. “I would still unquestionably pick Sourav Ganguly as my captain now. There have been many successful captains for us, including Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Still, I would go with Sourav. But I believe he had time for everyone. All the others have also been excellent captains. However, I would still pick him,” Parthiv Patel remarked at the Forum Convention Center during the 6th Advancement in Endourology Conference. Before joining the Mumbai Indians in 2015 and 2017, where he won two more titles, Parthiv won the IPL with CSK in 2010. Patel was a vital member of both teams and had a significant impact on their winning seasons thanks to his rapid glove work and versatility as an opener.
Dhoni has, of course, been excellent. It is without question. However, you will always have a special place in your heart for your first captain. And I have precisely that. I’ve been a member of the Chennai Super Kings for three years. It’s true that I made my Test or one-day debut before to Dhoni’s arrival. My output decreased. Dhoni was chosen for this reason. Thus, I believe it speaks well of him. I’ve always said it, but there are so many guys around that you just get one chance,” he continued.
Regarding the distinction between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, the batsmen for Delhi, Parthiv stated that although both players are courteous, the former captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has a somewhat more aggressive attitude.
both below and above the surface. Virat is really courteous. And Gautam is really courteous. It goes without saying that aggression is present when playing cricket and you want to win matches for your nation. We all adore Virat Kohli, though. The way he rejoices and all that. Many are inspired by him. Though I’ve played a lot of cricket with Gautam, I think Virat is a little bit more aggressive,” Parthiv remarked.
Fans are hopeful as Virat Kohli departs for the South Africa Test Series, saying “4 More Test Centuries Loading.
Although he is included in the squad for the two Test matches, Virat Kohli was not selected for the white-ball series against South Africa.
In preparation for the forthcoming two-match Test series that will begin in the rainbow nation on December 26, India’s star player Virat Kohli has departed for South Africa. The first game will be played in Centurion’s SuperSport Park. The second Test, meanwhile, will begin at Newlands, Cape Town, on January 3. Notably, Kohli is included in the squad for the two Test matches despite not being picked in the white-ball series against the Proteas. This will be Kohli’s first international assignment following India’s 2023 Cricket World Cup final defeat against Australia. In response to the video of Kohli departing for South Africa, a fan commented, “4 more Test centuries loading for the King”. Another admirer remarked, “King will score at least 4 centuries there.
In addition to being one of the world’s greatest hitters, Kohli is also one of the fittest cricket players. The former captain of India is frequently acknowledged for motivating a new wave of cricket players to advance in their level of fitness. On the cricket pitch, Kohli has always had a unique presence with his darting between the wickets and his acrobatic fielding. The Yo-Yo Test, a criterion for selection intended to gauge an athlete’s performance, was also introduced by Kohli to the Indian squad.
Since the Yo-Yo test was implemented, players have had to improve their level of fitness in order to be considered for the Indian squad. Even at 35 years old, Kohli is one of the fittest players in the Indian team, even if other younger players have scored higher on the Yo-Yo Test. Strength and conditioning coach Ankit Katiyar recently provided an explanation for why Kohli consistently passes the Yo-Yo Test.
According to Katiyar, who has worked with a number of Indian players in both the Indian Premier League and the domestic circuit, Kohli’s “top parameter” on the squad is fitness. The main reason the present group of players is so fit, he continued, is because of Kohli. Katiyar disclosed that Shubman Gill, a young batsman, views Virat Kohli as an inspiration from both a batter’s and a fitness standpoint.
Regarding Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli participating in the 2024 T20 World Cup, AB De Villiers’s “Hunger” verdict
The future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has recently been the subject of numerous discussions among experts and supporters alike.
The future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli has recently been the subject of numerous discussions among experts and supporters alike. Reports that the senior pair are looking to move away from the sport’s shortest format began to circulate after India’s 2023 Cricket World Cup final defeat to Australia. The discussion became more heated after they were left out of the white-ball series against South Africa. Legendary cricketer AB De Villiers of South Africa, however, thinks it all comes down to the players’ hunger and has endorsed Virat and Rohit to represent India in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
All we need to do is see them there, Rohit and Virat. Their hunger is the main factor. Are they motivated to go there and take home the T20 World Cup trophy? In my opinion, yes. Though I can’t speak for them, I believe they will want to go there and prevail. The T20 World Cup is a quick competition, and you do position yourself to potentially win a World Cup in the future. De Villiers stated on his YouTube channel, “I can definitely see them going there. With Hardik Pandya sidelined by an injury and Rohit not participating in the match, Suryakumar Yadav was named captain for the Twenty20 International series. De Villiers claimed that the team management made a “nice move” and that the Indian cricket squad may benefit from his innovation and “360 degree” approach.
“Both Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli Should…”: Harbhajan Singh’s Unwavering Opinion on the T20 World Cup 2024
Based on statistical analysis, Virat and Rohit rank among the top T20I hitters. Virat tops the run-scoring records in 115 matches with 4,008 runs at an average of 52.73, one century, and 37 fifty-five. His strike rate is 137.96 and his top score is 122*.
Senior hitters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli ought to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the USA and the West Indies next year, according to former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh’s comments on Thursday. Following India’s 10-wicket loss to England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semifinals in Australia in November of last year, Rohit and Virat have not been a member of the T20I team. In their absence, young people like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are being trained and given opportunities. In my opinion, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both ought to be playing in the World Cup.A strong combination, in my opinion, can only be made with talented senior players in addition to the younger ones. There’s a lot of mettle in Virat and Rohit.”I believe they ought to play,” Harbhajan stated to ANI.
Based on statistical analysis, Virat and Rohit rank among the top T20I hitters. Virat tops the run-scoring records in 115 matches with 4,008 runs at an average of 52.73, one century, and 37 fifty-five. His strike rate is 137.96 and his top score is 122*.
With 3,853 runs at an average of 31.32 and a strike rate of 139.24, Rohit is the second-highest run scorer in the format. His highest rating is 118. In the format, he has 29 fifties and four centuries.
Virat has participated in 33 international matches in the Caribbean, where he has amassed 1,597 runs at an average of 49.90, six hundreds, and seven fifties. He has a high score of 200 here.
In a similar vein, Rohit has participated in 29 international games in this area, amassing 1,004 runs at an average of 50.20, including one century and nine fifties. His highest rating is 103.
Harbhajan Singh stated that since playing in South Africa is difficult, particularly for bowlers, that young players should be given more time to learn. This was in reference to India fielding a young side during the trip of South Africa for the white-ball leg of the series. Additionally, he stated that individuals should stop making snap decisions about teams based solely on their performance.
We should give this youthful team some time, in my opinion. Our team is only good when it produces results, as we are very results-oriented. That is untrue. I believe that they will undoubtedly learn if we give them time. We’ll need to adjust a little because we evaluate teams too hastily based only on their performance. It takes time to see results. This group is currently in action. Particularly for bowlers, South Africa is a difficult environment to play,” the former spinner remarked.
The last edition of the three-match T20I series will take place today, with South Africa currently leading 1-0.
Harbhajan claimed that Australia outplayed India in the November ICC Cricket World Cup final, which Australia won.
“India’s poor play in the World Cup final caused them to lose. Australia performed more valiantly and better. We lost the third wicket and gave in to the pressure. We were close to scoring 280–290 runs. We have to acknowledge that we didn’t perform well under duress, even though the pitch, dew, and circumstances are getting a lot of the blame “said Harbhajan.
Harbhajan thanked all of the competitors in the Khelo India Para Games in Delhi, stating that it was an amazing chance for them.
Many congratulations to each and every para-athlete that took part in Khelo India…This platform provides athletes with a chance to display their abilities. More than 100 medals were recently won by para athletes (in the Para Asian Games). It’s a significant event, and I hope that more medals will be awarded in the days to come.
“I Was Removed, and Virat Kohli Was Appointed Vice-Captain”: Gautam Gambhir’s Video With a “MS Dhoni” Allusion Repeals and Gains Notoriety
“I Was Removed, and Virat Kohli Was Appointed Vice-Captain”: Gautam Gambhir’s Video With a “MS Dhoni” Allusion Repeals and Gains Notoriety
Gautam Gambhir speaks with honesty and integrity. He has never refrained from voicing his opinions, even when doing so has stirred up controversy. The former opener for the Indian cricket team, who competed in the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011, never held the position of captain for the national team. On the other hand, he helped the Kolkata Knight Riders win the IPL. Recently, an old video that featured Gautam Gambhir discussing his removal as vice captain following India’s failure to advance to the CB series final became viral on social media.
A few years ago, the Lallantop YouTube channel conducted an interview, which they re-shared on Monday.
“In the CB series under discussion, Australia and Sri Lanka advanced to the final whereas India did not. MS Dhoni was the captain and I was the vice-captain. Following that, there was going to be a tri-series involving Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India. We had lost the Test series 4-0 prior to qualifying for the final. Being the captain, Dhoni was also under pressure “In the video, Gautam Gambhir stated.
The vice-captain was the one who underwent changes following the CB series. After my removal, Virat Kohli was appointed vice captain. Has there ever been a situation in Indian sports history where the captain remains intact while the vice-captain gets removed? If I’m mistaken, feel free to confront me. Back then, the coach was Duncan Fletcher. I questioned him about the rationale behind that choice. He claimed the decision belonged to the selectors. “So, for what purpose did you attend the meeting?” I questioned him.
According to Gautam Gambhir’s recent opinion, if Rohit is playing well, he ought to captain the Indian squad in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
If Rohit Sharma is playing well, he ought to be leading the T20 World Cup; if not, the person who is not playing well shouldn’t be selected for the T20 World Cup. A captain has responsibilities. You are appointed captain after first being chosen as a player. In a podcast, Gautam Gambhir said to ANI, “A captain should have a permanent place in the playing eleven, and the permanent place depends on the form.”
The 2011 ODI World Cup winner stated that form should be the only factor taken into consideration when deciding which players to leave off the squad, rather than age.
Form should be the deciding factor when it comes to dropping or selecting a player, not their age. A player’s decision to retire is also entirely personal; selectors are free to decline their selection, but in the end, a player cannot be denied a bat or a ball. The most important thing is form,” he continued.
Opening batsman Rohit had an outstanding ODI World Cup 2023 and was vital to the ‘Men in Blue’. The 36-year-old finished the event with the second-most runs scored. In 11 innings, he amassed 597 runs with a strike rate of 125.94, setting the standard for India’s innings in matches.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Italy. They dated for some years before finally tying the knot. They welcomed their first child, a daughter they named Vamika, on January 11, 2021.
Rumours of Anushka Sharma’s second pregnancy have been doing rounds since last year. It grew even stronger when the actor started limiting her public appearances. She even rarely attended cricket matches of Virat. However, neither Virat nor Anushka commented on the pregnancy rumours.
Virat withdrew from the first two test matches against England and later withdrew from the whole series due to personal reasons. Later, his close friend AB de Villiers shared on his YouTube channel that Kohli and Anushka were expecting their second child, so the cricketer took some time out. However, a few days later, AB De Villiers changed his words and said that he was unaware of why Virat took a break.

The selectors are reportedly not willing to include Virat Kohli in the India squad for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup. The former India skipper returned to the T20 team in January this year after an absence of more than a year.
He as well as captain Rohit Sharma were not picked in the T20I team after the 2022 T20 World Cup before being recalled for the three-match T20I series at home against Afghanistan. While Rohit marked his return to T20Is by scoring a fine century in the third game, Virat Kohli registered scores of 29 and 0 in two outings.
And while Rohit’s participation in the T20 World Cup has already been confirmed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, Virat Kohli’s participation is not confirmed. While many believed that his return against Afghanistan all but confirmed his participation in the T20 World Cup, reports suggest that Virat Kohli can still face the axe.
Virat Kohli doubtful for T20 World Cup:
According to a report in The Telegraph, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel is not keen on picking Virat Kohli for the T20 World Cup as the selectors as well as team management believe the veteran has failed to cope with the team’s needs in the shortest format.
The report further stated that the BCCI had left the decision of Virat Kohli’s participation in the marquee event to chief selector Ajit Agarkar. With India not winning an ICC trophy since 2013, the selectors are willing to take some big and bold calls for the upcoming ICC event.
As per the report, Virat Kohli could put himself in contention for the tournament only if he enjoys a superlative campaign in the upcoming IPL 2024. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube are above Virat Kohli in the pecking order at the moment. The wickets in the West Indies could also hurt Kohli’s chances.
“It is also believed that the slow wickets in the West Indies wouldn’t suit him. The selectors have been toying with the idea for some time now and there has been nothing to suggest about a change in plans,” stated the report.
Meanwhile, the provisional squad for the T20 World Cup has to be sent to the ICC in the first week of May. India are in Group A along with Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada. The Men in Blue will open their campaign against Ireland on June 5.
Virat Kohli Missing the 2024 Indian Premier League
Is Virat Kohli Missing the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL 2024)?
The inaugural match of the IPL 2024 will take place on March 22 at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai, between the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The explosive batter cleared the air over Virat Kohli’s prolonged absence from the Indian team on February 19, when he announced the birth of his second child.
Having been selected for the Indian team for the first two Test matches, Kohli withdrew, leaving himself out of the remaining three.
The BCCI also respected Kohli’s decision and asked the media to give Kohli privacy.
However, India’s legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar made a massive comment during a Star Sports promotional event. His comment came as a major heartbreak for the Kohli fans.
Gavaskar questioned on Monday whether the top hitter would participate in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
Shaayad ho sakta hai ke IPL ke liye bhi na khele (Will he play…), kuchh cause ke liye khel nahin rahe hain. For some reason, he’s not playing. When asked whether Kohli would be hungry for runs in the IPL as he would be making his comeback to action following a lengthy sabbatical, Gavaskar responded rather cheekily, “Perhaps he may not play in the IPL as well.”
On March 22 at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai, the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of the IPL 2024.
Notably, RCB will be trying to win the championship this year, and as usual, Kohli’s play will be essential to the team’s success.
