After spending almost 22 years working in the Income Tax division of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, voluntarily retired from the agency. Earlier this year, Mrs. Sunita, who was most recently worked at the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in Delhi as the Commissioner of I-T, asked VRS. Officials say that an official order has since been issued by the department’s top regulating authority, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). According to the order, which PTI obtained, her VRS would begin on July 15.
