At the age of sixteen, he played his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy on January 27, 2020. In the UP T20 League, cricket player Sameer Rizvi, 20, rose to prominence. On December 11, 2021, he made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for 2021–2022.
