Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born on 28 April,1987 in Pallavaram in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her father Joseph Prabhu, Telugu and her mother Ninette Prabhu from Alappuzha, Kerala. She even has two elder brothers named Jonathan Prabhu and David Prabhu.

Samantha’s professional film career began with the Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The romantic drama Baana Kaathadi (2010) starring Adharvaa was Samantha’s next movie. The actress had signed on for the third Tamil project, but due to delays in the completion of the first two, this one came out before the others. Together with Mahesh Babu, Samantha appeared in the big-budget Telugu film Dookudu (2012), which went on to become one of the most successful Telugu films ever made.

Following that, Samantha appeared alongside Nani and Sudeep in the live-action Telugu-Tamil bilingual film Eega (2012), in which she played a microartist who runs an NGO and seeks vengeance for the murder of her lover. • In December 2013, Samantha created a stir by posting a controversial tweet on her Twitter account. Samantha criticised the depiction of actress Kriti Sanon crawling behind actor Mahesh Babu on the beach, who looks back at Kriti disapprovingly. Samantha tweeted that the poster was “deeply regressive” and stated that it was offensive by the makers to depict women like animals. The actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed to her followers on 29 October 2022 that she has been diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease. Samantha shared a selfie of herself on Instagram as she was lying on a couch with an IV drip attached to her wrist. 

The actor was watching the Yashodha teaser with her back to the camera and a microphone in front of her. Samantha made a heart-shaped gesture with her hands but kept her face hidden.

Samantha captioned the picture, There was a resoundingly positive response to the Yashodha trailer. I have the ability to handle the apparently endless problems that life throws at me because of the love and connection I have with every one of you. I was given the diagnosis with myositis, an autoimmune disease, a few months ago. I had hoped to post this when it entered remission. However, it’s taking a bit longer than I had anticipated.

She continued, I’m starting to see that we don’t always have to put on a brave face. I’m still having a hard time accepting this vulnerability. The medical professionals are optimistic that I will soon make a full recovery. I’ve had good days and horrible days, both physically and mentally, and even on the days when I feel like I can’t go another day like this, that feeling eventually passes.
