I wish you everyone joy, for there is no better gift. This inspirational book shares the wisdom of two spiritual teachers, the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. I promise you that it’s the best $26 you’ll spend. — Oprah Winfrey
A lovely and uplifting book by two inspiring spiritual gurus. — Frost Magazine
Absolutely remarkable – long-term happiness in a changing world. — Gaby Roslin
Last year, I read the most incredible book, The Book of Joy. It’s a fantastic book about two old men, with gorgeous images of them laughing together and simply chatting about human tales and how they’ve been uplifted in their lives. It truly is the Book of Joy. I’d just have to take that [to the desert island] because it makes me happy all the time. ― Desert Island Discs.
An astonishing read from two global spiritual heavyweights. The themes they address, from the nature of pure joy to its barriers, as well as joy-boosting techniques, make for a sincere and uplifting read, with practical suggestions on how to bring more joy into your daily life. ― Wellness Magazine
About The Authors
Dalai Lama (author)
His Holiness The Dalai Lama is Tibet’s spiritual and political leader. He now lives in exile in Northern India, where he works diligently on behalf of the Tibetan people while also traveling the world to impart spiritual lectures to sold-out crowds. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
Desmond Tutu (author)
Tutu, the first black Archbishop of Cape Town, received the Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission. He currently serves as Chair of the Elders, a group of former world leaders dedicated to addressing some of the world’s most intractable challenges. He has helped to settle Kenya’s political crises and often speaks out against Mugabe, Israel, the Iraq War, and the Burmese regime, but he is also known for his irrepressible sense of humor and profound spirituality. He lives in South Africa but travels extensively.
