In October 2017, Jay filed a criminal defamation suit of Rs. 100 Crore against a news website, The Wire, for publishing an article raising concerns about his company’s (Temple Enterprise) sudden growth by 16000 times in a financial year.Subsequently, Jay Shah filed a criminal defamation case against seven people, including the author of the article, Rohini Singh, and editors of The Wire. The case is active in the trial court.
