Gautam Gambhir started his cricketing career in 1999 when he was just 18 years old. He made his first-class debut for Delhi against Orissa in the 1999–2000 season of the Ranji Trophy. Gambhir’s domestic performances earned him a place in the Indian team in 2003. He made his debut against Bangladesh in an ODI match. He scored his first century in 2004 against Bangladesh and became a regular member of the Indian team.
