Bhagwant Singh Mann is a politician and comedian from Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party’s leader Bhagwant Mann has won the Lok Sabha elections from his constituency Sangrur for the second time in a row. He was born on 17 October 1973 in Satoj village of Sangrur district of Punjab.

His house name is Jugnu. He completed his early studies in the Sangrur district itself. Then for his graduation, he enrolled in Shaheed Udham Singh Government College located in Sunam. From there, only he could complete his studies till the first year of B.Com, after which he started his career as a comedian by saying goodbye to his studies.

• 2014: He left the People’s Party of Punjab in March 2014 and joined Aam Aadmi Party. Also, He contested as its candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency in the Indian General Election 2014. Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann took his audience by surprise when he announced that he and his wife were expecting a baby in March during his Republic Day address in Ludhiana Friday. The CM said his wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur was seven-month pregnant.

My wife is seven months pregnant. We’ve consciously chosen not to discover the gender and won’t do so in the future either. I urge everyone to avoid such practices. Let’s refrain from discriminating between boys and girls; instead, let’s wish for a healthy baby. Given the opportunity, there’s nothing that girls can’t achieve.”

At a private hospital in Mohali on Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and his spouse Dr. Gurpreet Kaur welcomed a daughter into their family.

“God has given the gift of a daughter. Both mother and the child are healthy,” Mann shared in a message in Punjabi on X.

On Wednesday, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur was admitted to the Fortis Hospital located in Mohali. Mann arrived Thursday morning to the hospital and departed at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Four months after taking the oath of office on March 16, 2022, Mann wed Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in Chandigarh on July 6, 2022.

Mann is the father of three children—a son and a daughter—from his first marriage to Inderpreet Kaur. After their 2015 divorce, Seerat, 23, and Dilshan, 19, live in the United States with their parents. He previously divorced Inderpreet.

Mann surprised the audience by revealing that he and his wife were expecting a child in March during his Republic Day speech in Ludhiana. He advised others not to get test results for sex determination, adding, “I’m also anticipating a bundle of joy to join my family in March. My spouse is due in seven months.
