Arijit Singh Career
When Arijit Singh was 18 years old, his mentor Rajendra Prasad Hazari suggested that he leave his hometown and take part in the reality show Fame Gurukul (2005). This was the beginning of Arijit Singh’s musical career. He placed sixth and was removed by audience vote. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali saw his skill during the performance and had him sing Yun Shabnam, a song slated to be utilised in his upcoming movie Saawariya. The song was no longer necessary due to a change in the script during production. It was never made public. The head of Tips, Kumar Taurani, signed him after Fame Gurukul for an album that was never made public.
Arijit Singh competed in and won the reality competition 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil. He made the decision to relocate to Mumbai in 2006 to work as a freelancer, residing in a rented room in the city’s Lokhandwala district.
