Joseph, a West Indies under-19, made his Leewards first-class debut in the 2014–15 Regional Four-Day Competition. He took 5/99 against Guyana in the following season. Against the Windward Islands, he took 7/46. West Indies selected Joseph for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in December 2015. He led his team with 13 wickets from six matches at the tournament (and equal third overall). His man-of-the-match performance against Zimbabwe was 4/30.
The Leeward Islands’ 2019–20 Regional Super50 squad included him in October 2019.
International Career

He joined the West Indies’ India Test squad in July 2016. On 9 August 2016, he made his Test debut. He made his West Indies ODI debut against Pakistan on 2 October 2016.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) gave him a 2018–19 contract for all formats in October 2018.
In early 2019, Joseph played in the 2nd Test match against England after learning that his mother had died.
Joseph was selected for West Indies Test series against England in June 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the Test series from May 2020 to July 2020. On 5 December 2020, Joseph scored his first Test fifty, 86 runs, in the second innings of a big loss against New Zealand. Alzarri Joseph – T20 career
In March 2019, Mumbai Indians picked him as a replacement for Adam Milne in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On 6th April 2019, he made his IPL debut against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and registered the figures of 6/12, which was the best bowling figure for a debutant as well beating Andrew Tye’s 5/17 in 2017. These were also the best bowling figures in the IPL as well, breaking the eleven-year-old record held by Sohail Tanvir (6/14) and also the second-best T20 bowling figures after Deepak Chahar (6/7). He also became only the second player to take a fifer on IPL debut, after Andrew Tye as well.
In July 2019, he was picked to play for the Amsterdam Knights in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament. However, Mumbai Indians released him ahead of the 2020 IPL auction. In July 2020, he was named in the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League and went unsold in the 2021 IPL auction as well.

Alzarri Joseph was born in a Christian family to Alva Joseph and Late Sharon Joseph. Alzarri Joseph has a younger brother (name not known).
