About The Author

Munshi Premchand, an Indian novelist, story writer, and dramatist, was born on July 31, 1880, in Lamhi village (near Varanasi). He is a well-known writer of the early twentieth century. He died on October 8, 1936, after helping the people via his wonderful writings. He was born Dhanpat Rai Srivastav and went by the pen name Nawab Rai. He used his pen name for all of his writings. Finally, his name changed to Munshi Premchand. His first name, Munshi, is an honorary prefix bestowed by his admirers in society in recognition of his high-quality and successful writing. As a Hindi writer, he wrote about a dozen novels, 250 short stories, several articles, and translations.
