Chetan Sakariya is an Indain International cricketer who plays for Indian National cricket team as a Bowler and he is a Left arm medium fast bowler and left handed batsman. Currently Chetan is playing for Saurastra team in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals in Indian premier league tournament. Chetan made his International debut for Indian national team in 2021 against Shri lanka. Chetan is playing all three formets of domestic cricket for Saurastra as a bowler.

Chetan Sakariya was born on 28 February 1998 in Vartej, Bhavnagar, Gujrat, India in vey poor Gujarati family. Chetan father Kanji Sakariya used to drive tempo to fulfill the needs of the family. Chetan Sakariya’s Career

Ever since his childhood, he used to play cricket and played cricket for his school team. While he was representing his school team at the district level, he caught the attention of Rajendra Gohil, Coach. He asked him to join the academy to refine his skills.

Soon, he joined the junior Saurashtra team but, he didn’t get the chance to play under 16 team. However, due to his consistency, he got the chance to debut in the under 19 team. After that, he got guidance from Glenn McGrath at the MRF Pace Foundation.

Domestic Career

In 2018, he was selected to play against Baroda in the Vizay Hazare Trophy. He performed very well by giving away 73 runs and got 2 wickets in his 10 overs quota. That same year, his career flourished when he took 5 wickets against Gujarat in the first innings. In 2019, he played his first T20 match. He bowled in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Railways.

IPL Career

Ahead of IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals bought him at auction for 1.2 crores. Chetan on his debut against Punjab Kings on 13th April 2021. Mayank Agarwal was his maiden IPL wicket. He even took the wickets of Jhye Richardson and KL Rahul in that match. Earlier, he used to serve as a net bowler for RCB. The Indian player has a net worth of 1.2 crores. I hope nobody goes through the pain and struggles we went through. My second child, a son who was a year younger to Chetan, committed suicide a month ago. Chetan was playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at that time, which he finished as the sixth-highest wicket-taker. We didn’t inform him about his brother’s death for the first 10 days as we didn’t want his game to be affected. All we told him was that his father wasn’t keeping well.”

Chetan caught the attention of IPL teams with his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the IPL auction, the Rajasthan Royals team made a bid of ₹1.4 crores to join their team. He used to bowl on the net for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ipl2020 season before joining Rajasthan. He made his debut against Punjab Kings on 12 April 2021 after joining Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021.
