Young Parliamentarian Shri Anurag Thakur gets Bharat Asmita Award
“Such recognition motivates me further to work for the
youth and get them into the process of nation building”
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president and member of parliament for Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, received the Bharat Asmita Jana Pratinidhi Shreshta award on Thursday in Pune. Former Chief Election Commissioner Shri TN Seshan, renowned artist Ms. Mallika Sarabhai, actor Shri Ashutosh Gowariker, and writer Shri Gurucharan Das were among the other recipients of the award. The chief guest of the event was Padma Vlbhushan Dr. Vijay L. Kelkar, a former chairman of the Finance Commission of the Government of India.
At the Bharat Asmita National Awards ceremony on Thursday, the MIT School of Government of the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAAER) in Pune gave out the coveted prizes. “Dharma is a far more expansive concept than religion. It just involves carrying out our own responsibilities. “Our country will reach the place in Swami Vivekananda’s dreams if the youth and others follow Dharma towards mother and the mother land,” stated Shri Seshan.

Because of his strong involvement in politics both locally and in the Parliament, Shri Thakur was selected. He is also one of the new generation of Members of Parliament who successfully integrates social work, politics, athletics, and political action to support the process of nation-building.
In addition to thanking the MIT School and stating that praise like this lifts people’s morale, Shri Thakur voiced his worry about the rising separatist unrest in Kashmir. “It is unexpected that Kashmir and the rest of India have two different flags,” he remarked.
During his just finished Rashtriya Ekta Yatra, which began in Kolkata on January 12 and ended on Republic Day, Shri Thakur thanked the people of the nation for their love and support. Shri Thakur described the yatra as a historic reassertion of India’s burgeoning young toward nation-building and declared that his party will build on the goodwill created during the yatra by launching numerous more positive political initiatives targeted at interacting with the nation’s youth. He went on, “Youth should go into politics to serve people, not to get rich or powerful.”

Speaking with students, Shri Thakur announced that the BJYM would start a few positive youth programs with the dual aims of helping young people reach their goals and encouraging them to get involved in the mainstream political process.
Previously, Shri Thakur had denounced the despicable US government act of placing radio tags on Indian students and had asked that the Indian government take prompt action to rehabilitate the dignity of the lawfully migrated Indian students and guarantee that such incidents never happen again.
US immigration officials have radio-tagged hundreds of Indian students attending Tri-Valley University (TVU) in Pleasanton, a significant suburb of the San Francisco Bay Area in the United States, as part of their electronic surveillance program. Following the university’s closure due to allegations of visa fraud, which affected over 1,200 Indian students, the most of whom were from Andhra Pradesh, these students now face the possibility of deportation. To allow the authorities to monitor every student’s movements at any given time, the students’ passports have been seized and a navigation device has been fitted to their legs.
However, the university’s students have noted in a petition to US authorities that the university was authentic and genuine because it was listed in the official Student and Exchange Visitor Information System database. Students have begged not to be punished with deportation because any fraud was committed by the university, not by the students, in violation of US law.
A bunch of innocent students who were tricked by a “sham” university and were being treated like common criminals had their human rights flagrantly violated by the USA, the high priests of universal and inalienable individual human rights, according to Shri Thakur.
In response to a recent comment made by a US consulate official in Hyderabad that wearing ankle monitors was “hep and happening,” Shri Thakur said that the statement betrayed a flagrant disregard on the part of the US for the human rights of immigrants from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. “No matter how advanced and painless these devices are, it is never acceptable to use them to snoop on the daily lives of defenseless students,” Shri Thakur continued.
Anurag Thakur controversy
Anurag Thakur was sacked by the Supreme Court of India as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Supreme Court had appointed the Lodha Committee to determine and give a detailed report on whether government officials should be involved in the administrative bodies of sports. The Lodha Committee, after submitting its final reports, advised the courts that politicians should not be part of sports administration. Following this, the Supreme Court sacked Anurag in January 2017, and it asked him to step down as the President of the BCCI. Thakur, however, refused to accept the verdict. After several hearings and arguments, the court ordered Thakur to either step down, issue an unconditional public apology to the Supreme Court, or he will be arrested. Anurag issued an unconditional apology following this order, and he stepped down as the President of the BCCI.
Oppenheimer controversy: Anurag Thakur threatens to sue CBFC over a passage from the Bhagavad Gita
Controversy surrounds Christopher Nolan’s film ‘Oppenheimer’ due to an intimate scene featuring the Bhagavad Gita, sparking anger and demands for its removal by Indian officials. (PTI)
Since its July 21 debut in theaters, Christopher Nolan’s most recent film, “Oppenheimer,” starring Cillian Murphy, has generated debate. Many national reviewers and critics have voiced their dissatisfaction at a private scene in the movie that includes a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, which is revered by Hindus as sacred text. In India, the scene sparked outrage on social media as many viewers expressed their outrage over what they perceived as religious insensitivity.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has adopted a strong position on the contentious situation in reaction to the public outcry. He insisted that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) take full responsibility for authorizing the offensive material. The Minister threatened to take severe measures against all CBFC members involved in allowing the screening and ordered the filmmakers to immediately cut the segment from the movie.

Anurag Thakur voiced his anger with CBFC for allegedly failing to safeguard the public interest and made it clear that any negligence in this area would not go unpunished. The sequence has also drawn the attention of Uday Mahurkar, the founder of Save Culture, Save India and the Union government’s Information Commissioner. Mahurkar claims the scenario denigrates the Bhagavad Gita, a holy text that is highly regarded in the Hindu community. He insisted that Nolan remove the objectionable scene from the movie, citing its obvious anti-religious sentiment. “It’s an insult to Bhagavad Gita, which is our holy book,” declared Mahurkar. It communicates important and potent messages to everyone on the planet. How could someone treat it with such contempt? The scene is an attack on civilization and our ideals. It’s an attack on the community of Hindus “ANI said.
Mahurkar emphasized on Twitter on Saturday that the scene is a vicious critique of Hinduism.”As per social media reports, a scene in the movie shows a woman making a man read Bhagwad Geeta aloud while indulging in sexual intercourse,” he said.
He declared that he wanted ministers and high officials, such as Union Minister of Broadcasting and Information Anurag Thakur, to look into the problem.
“This should be investigated by the I&B Ministry on an urgent basis and those involved should be severely punished,” Mahurkar stated.
The cast of “Oppenheimer,” which is based on the biography of Robert J. Oppenheimer, the “Father of the Atomic Bomb,” and is set during World War II, is outstanding and includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Jack Quaid.
